Obituary

Was born to the late Cora and Marshall Blakely, Sr. on April 10, 1933, in Bullock County, AL.  She departed this life on December 11, 2024. She was the third oldest of 15 children. She was married at an early age to Willie Andrew Pritchett, Sr. and they had five children.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and served Him all her life.  She served devotedly for many years at Piney Grove Baptist Church #1, Mathews, AL until her health failed.  She was a woman who loved God, her family, church, and community. She was a member of the choir, faithfully attended Sunday School, helped start the Angel Choir, and served many years as the "Mother" of the church. She also served many years as a member of the Bethel Pride Eastern Star. Her passions were cooking and serving others. After 91 years of life on earth, she transitioned to her heavenly home.  She was preceded in death by her oldest daughter (Mary Lee Pritchett), 3 brothers (Willie James Blakely, Arthur Blakely, and Nehemiah Blakely), 2 sisters (Emma Mae Smith, and Essie Pearl Page), and one grandson (Bernard Jahmal Jackson).

She leaves to cherish her memories 4 devoted and loving children, Ola Mae Pritchett, Montgomery, AL, Willie (Amy) Pritchett, Hope Hull, AL, Cora L. (Bernard) Jackson, Montgomery, AL, Gary Pritchett, Fitzpatrick, AL and 13 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 37 great-great grand-children.

She will be missed by her devoted sisters; Sadie Reynolds, Minnie Reynolds, Barbara Vaughn, and Dorothy Presley; devoted brothers: Aron Blakely, Brady Charles Blakely, Marshall (Lynn) Blakely, Jr., Jerry Blakely, and Tommie L. (Cassandra) Blakely; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Her Pastor, Timothy Blakely, and his loving wife, Vivian, along with their church family never missed visits and opportunities to pray with her.  There were many that gave great care to her over the years, including a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.  Her daughter, Cora Jackson, served as her caregiver for the past five years.
